Tony Dupaquier, Executive Director of The Academy
Tony Dupaquier is considered the industry’s most forward-thinking F&I and sales trainer and consultant creating The Academy’s Y.E.S. Processes. Tony leads the 10 certified trainers and in-dealership developers at The Academy as the Executive Director of The Academy. Tony earned a degree in Communications from Sam Houston State University and has since become a 29+ year veteran of the automotive industry.
He has held nearly every position in variable operations, from salesperson to General Manager, and is a former Nissan National Walk-Around Champion. Tony has been a featured workshop presenter at the NADA Convention for a number of years, addressed international dealer groups on F&I and sales techniques, and spoken at numerous 20 Groups and dealer associations. Tony has been selected to MC the Inaugural Ethical F&I Managers Conference in Denver. He also contributes F&I articles to many industry publications. As Executive Director of The Academy, Tony is responsible for its direction, training material, and marketing.
Tony currently resides in Austin, Texas. His hobbies are track racing his Porsche and Remote Control Airplanes.
Gregory Arroyo serves as senior manager of strategic content and external communication for DealerSocket, Inc.
He previously served as editorial director of F&I and Showroom and Auto Dealer Today magazines, where he covered the automotive retail industry for more than a decade, was a 16-time Maggie award finalist with the Western Publishing Association, and chaired, spoke, and served as a panel moderator for F&I and Showroom’s annual Industry Summit.
Mr. Arroyo also served as a reporter for the Los Angeles Times, publicist for the Consumer Electronics Association, and marketer for Clarion Corp. of America. He earned his Certified Automotive Compliance Professional designation from Automotive Compliance Education in 2016.
Gregory loves baseball. He and Sylvia are devoted parents of Isaac.
Shannon Robertson is the Executive Vice President of operations of the Association of Finance & Insurance Professionals (AFIP).
In a little over five years at AFIP, Shannon has been instrumental in streamlining operational structures and processes. He’s always looking for innovative ways AFIP can support its members, agents and dealers. Shannon initiated AFIP’s participation in Deal Auditor.
A natural trainer, Shannon also conducts AFIP certification boot camps. Many of his ideas for service enhancements, such as a visual tool that makes training even more accessible to boot camp attendees, come from feedback in the field.
Before joining AFIP, Shannon gained 13 years of experience in financial services at Fidelity Investments. When he left Fidelity, he was a managing director overseeing an $800 million book of business representing 52 clients.
Before his time at Fidelity Investments, Shannon gained automotive experience working for D&M Leasing, as a leasing consultant. Earlier in his career, he worked at AFIP as the member benefits coordinator and office manager – while also providing customer service support.
In his free time, Shannon enjoys outdoor activites.
The 28-year industry veteran currently serves as finance director at Park Rapids, Minn.-based Thielen Motors. He is one of F&I Showroom magazine’s 2008 F&I Pacesetters.
Anderson, who also won the magazine’s 2011 F&Idol award in a landslide, also contributes to Auto Dealer Today’s monthly “Over the Curb” column as well as other well-known publications.
Anderson was selected as one of the top F&I producers in the nation by General Motors in 2012.
Anderson is a student of his craft, having studied under such legendary sales trainers as Jackie Cooper, David Lewis, Paul Cummings and Jim Ziegler. From them, he learned the importance of preparation, professionalism, and connecting with customers.
Anderson spends time volunteering financial advice to his Native American community and is well known at home with his outside Christmas display-Christmas in Wadena-with proceeds going to charity.
Marv Eleazer has more than 38 years in automotive retail serving the last 32 practicing F&I.
He has written for various publications including F&I Showroom and Wards Auto. He's also been called upon for contributions to Edmunds, Automotive News and USA Today.
His opinion pieces can be found in other well-known articles.
A frequent voice at national conventions, he supports and understands the complex world F&I managers face and offers expert advice.
With assistance from an experienced group of admins, he also founded the Ethical F&I Managers (EFI™) Facebook group which is an ongoing symposium of professional exchange among F&I practitioners. He recently launched an online publication for F&I professionals entitled F&I 20/20 and this accompanying website. Employed in F&I at Langdale Ford as lead F&I since 1999, Eleazer handles all aspects of the job he writes about.
He enjoys traveling and boating.
